All the Engineers in SLES working for Government Departments, Ministries, Provincial Councils, Local Government Authorities and District Secretariats are members of the APSE who is governed by Engineering Service Board (ESB) in Ministry of Public Administration & Management.
Sri Lanka Engineering Service (SLES) has been started in 1906, with the establishment of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) and has achieved great national and international recognition. APSE is consisting of 1441 members’ positions, but presently active membership is about 1116 and hence 325 positions are vacant.
Local Engineers have been greatly contributing since past few centuries for building very important national infrastructures such as Townships, Buildings, Highways, Railways and Irrigation Structures including Large Dams, Ports, Coastal Protections Works and Airports etc. Read More
