Association of Public Service Engineers (APSE)

APSE stands as the unified voice of engineering professionals within the Sri Lanka Engineering Service (SLES),
championing the interests of its members while advancing social justice and sustainable development in a democratic society.

Our Mission

Introduction

All engineers in the Sri Lanka Engineering Service (SLES) working across Government Departments, Ministries, Provincial Councils, Local Government Authorities, and District Secretariats are members of the APSE, which is governed by the Engineering Service Board (ESB) under the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils & Local Government.

The Sri Lanka Engineering Service (SLES) was established in 1906 alongside the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) and has since earned significant national and international recognition. APSE comprises 1500 membership positions.

Local engineers have made substantial contributions over the past centuries, developing critical national infrastructure such as townships, buildings, highways, railways, irrigation structures including large dams, ports, coastal protection works, and airports.

The Sri Lanka Engineering Service appointed 183 new Grade III Engineers on 31 October 2025 at a ceremony held at the Nilamadhura Building, Narahenpita. The event was conducted under the leadership of Ministry Secretary Mr. S. Aloka Bandara and organized by the Engineering Service Directorate.


44th Annual General Meeting of Association of Public Service Engineers was held on 30th July 2025 and appointed the new Executive Committee Members for the year 2025–2026. Their profiles can be viewed under the Committee Members tab.
